IT Trends-The Perfect Storm
Dr. Jerry Luftman
Distinguished Professor
Stevens Institute
Program Description:
As IT executives we recognize that we are continuously impacted by a dynamic ecosystem; change is a fundamental part of our jobs. However, the confluence of the current business environment driven by the economic conundrum, globalization, new sourcing models, compounded by the concurrent emergence of significant transformational technologies, has driven many to believe that we are engaged in a perfect storm.
Anticipating the convergence of these events and the impact that they are having on the business is more important than ever. These changes will accelerate the transformation of our organiza¬tions, business processes, and they will have major and many unforeseen implications for our lives.
This meeting will discuss the insights from the annual SIM IT Trends Survey facilitated by Jerry Luftman, Stevens Technology Professor, and many of the elements that are driving the Perfect Storm.
There will be both positive and negative aspects during this transformation. It will be fast and fierce. The organization that adapts best will have an advantage over the others. It will foster economic growth and its position in a continuously globalizing world.
