SIM NJ 2009/2010 Kickoff Meeting
The Bionic CIO:
Rebuilt to be better, stronger, faster.
Program Description:
Over the last ten years the role of the CIO has experienced a pendulum swing from technology leader to business leader. This shift has prompted countless programs surrounding “What the C-Suite Wants Now”. CIOs are pressured to reinvent and upgrade themselves with each new trend. The last two years have compounded challenges demanding severe “budget efficiencies” for sitting CIOs and those seeking their next opportunity.
How do we keep up? How do we keep pace?
SIM NJ has compiled a panel of four experts – two nationally recognized executive search professionals and two executive coaches – who have agreed to a no holds barred discussion about the current market and how CIOs can develop into a Bionic CIO. These panelists have worked closely with Fortune 50 CEOs and they have agreed to coach-not coddle our SIM members as to: the importance of navigating change gracefully, what skills and traits are the most critical to develop and display, why succession planning and your team are so important to your career advancement, how to gain external visibility to have recruiters calling you, how to break into the business inner sanctum, and when it’s time to get over yourself or take your toys and go home.
Our discussion will help you to figure out how to reinvent yourself once again and yet remain authentic to who you are. You will have tactical action items you can begin to implement the very next day and strategic goals to work toward which, if achieved, would put you at the top of your game – a Bionic CIO.
