Question: I've heard that SIM NJ has a few Yahoo Groups available, how do I join?

Answer:

You may already be a member of NJ SIM Yahoo Groups. If not, we would like to invite you and share the benefits of collaborating with your colleagues online.


Our NJ SIM Job Posts Group was initially created to enable any member who joins to share job opportunities that they are seeking to fill or one that they may have received from a colleague or search company and are authorized to distribute. Over time, the group evolved into a more collaborative support organization for those looking for a change. It has created an environment for peers to providing coaching, career advice and a place to share ideas, leads and approaches to finding new positions, and we would like to welcome you to join if you are looking for assistance, or if you are willing to help someone else in need.

The purpose of the second yahoo group is to enable members to request information or seek help from other members regarding a technology or business issues that they face. Your peers may have faced the same issues you face and be able to guide you the right solution or source of solution. This group has become a valuable resource for networking with your colleagues, building relationship and sharing information.

Instructions on joining the group (After receiving the invitation):

  • Click the link to activate and it will take you to Yahoo Groups.
  • If you do not have a Yahoo ID - sign up for one. Create a user ID and Password. During the signup process, Yahoo will ask you to create an optional Yahoo e-mail account. This is not required, as posts can be sent to any e-mail account you would like.
  • Once you have your Yahoo ID - hit the button to join the group.
  • Edit your group profile to indicate how you want to get messages sent to you:
